Colby's Beginnings and Dreams
Everyone's perception of reality has one key factor and that is their upbringing. Views, ambitions and morals are built throughout this stage. My life began in Las Vegas Nevada in month of April in 1993. I was raised by a single mother, my father was around as much as he could, in a great household. I was brought up in Christians schools, played baseball for most of my conscious life and I considered myself a good kid. High school was a blur of drama and arithmetic that we all wish we could relive and fix but I enjoyed it.
As I matured into my teens and high school/college days I stuck with baseball and decided that's what I wanted to pursue. It's every young boys dream to become a professional athlete whatever sport they enjoy and mine was baseball. I went to a different high school every year due to moving around but I gladly graduated in 2012. I went straight into college at CSN for baseball but I sadly only did a semester because I had to pursue a full time job for my family. I found a job at the MGM grand as a valet and worked their for a year and a half. It was a great job and I learned a lot but I wanted to get back in school and baseball. My old coach knew a coach at oxnard college so he called in a favor and I headed down to the coast and here I am.
A dream is a powerful thing which we must pursue wholeheartedly. I want to play baseball and produce music because it's my passion. But my main goal is to help change peoples lives. Even if I can bring joy or a smile for a split second than that would be my goal. I feel like sometimes can get lost in their own ambitions and needs that we forget that best thing to do is give back. So after all that my goal is pursue baseball, producing music and a degree either physical therapy or political science. I know degrees may seem off from my dream but I see them both beneficial in helping people in two different fields. Just remember a dream is just a dream if you don't pursue it.
